What We Do
Martha Penelope Leggatt for a Parish Hall - more commonly called the St Lawrence Parish Hall Trust - is a registered charity established in 1957 for the benefit of the people of Ipswich.
Left in a will by Martha Leggatt the St Lawrence Parish Hall was owned by the charity and used as a parish hall.
When the hall was sold the proceeds were invested and any income derived set aside for the purposes of the general benefit of the inhabitants of Ipswich for which provision cannot be made out of rates or other public funds.
How we help
The trust provides grants to organisations in Ipswich to help them:
- Provide facilities of a capital nature for the disabled and other disadvantaged groups in the community
- Provide the means of transport for such groups
- Assist in the provision or refurbishment of church halls used for the benefit of the community
- Other purposes for the benefit of the people of the ancient parish of St Lawrence
